quoted Phillips Stevens about the origins of Friday the 13th. Stevens says the date is considered unlucky because of two elements from the Bible. Judas, who betrayed Jesus Christ, is thought to be the 13th guest to arrive at the Last Supper, on a Thursday night, and Jesus was killed the next day, on a Friday. “You get both of these elements coming together: the taboo against 13, and the crucifixion, which was on a Friday,” Stevens said.
